So I guess a lot has happened since I last posted. Silverado in a week. I've been taking pictures, not as often, but I have. I'm really proud of some of them. I kind of feel like my photography is superior to everyone elses' at school, but I kinda hate assuming things like that. I'm no better than everyone else. But I'm really proud of some of my recent photos. I won a photography contest recently, actually. There was a contest at Springs Preserve that I entered Cones, 3S, and Families in Choir in. 3S didn't make the finals but we ended up going to reception for Families in Choir and Cones. I honestly didn't expect to win anything. Well, we went through the honorable mentions and I won the last of them, a Mission Award for best photo taken at Springs Preserve. The youth Category. 3rd place on Cones and 1st on Families in Choir. It made my day and my parents took me out for sushi. c:
Uh.. Yeah. Silverado. Ick. I'm offically a freshman until I get 5 full credits. I have 2. Way to totally fuck last school year. :/ But I'm in Theater and Sociology so I'm thrilled. :D So wonderfully happy. I hope it makes public school bearable. :/ I'm in a whole bunch of remedial classes. If I can manage to get my grades up enough >LVA. If things don't go well (which won't happen... Hopefully.) then back to EK. D:
I also think I've been more spoiled and shopped more this summer than I have in the past two years. I got back from Kansas and Oshkosh weeks ago and in Kansas the grandparents took us shopping more times than I can count. I got colorful skinny jeans, a fuckton of sunglasses, new books, The Doors film, jelly bracelets, fun shirts, dress pants, etc. It was pretty wonderful. I feel like a spoiled little kid. :)
Oshkosh was wayyy more fun than I expected. It rained a lot and it was just overall wonderful. I don't want to talk a ton about it because it was a while ago now, but I did take a lot of wonderful pictures.
This last week of summer has been pretty chaotic. Lots and lots of parties crammed in. We hang out a bit and Riley, Me, Ann, Cody, Marissa, Tyler, and Sherandra have a tradition of playing twister now I guess. It's pretty fun. I also watched RENT with them. Mari cried and Ann didn't like it. Personally, I thought it was fantastic. Kind of silly but wonderful. :)
Riley had her b-day party last night. Me, Rocky, Dawn, Halee, Sherandra, Marissa, Tyler, Ann, Cody, Jake, and of course, Riley. It started off pretty fun. We hung out in the dining room a lot while Mari the aspiring chef worked on Riley's massive 6-layer rainbow cake and Riley and Dawn "made out." Haha. And Jake took horrible pictures of it because he kept moving the camera around.
Then Truth or Dare and Cake. Jake cut the cake into 4 pieces and it all fell apart. xD But it was tasty. We just ate a ton of badly cut hunks of cake. Then mor Truth or Dare. I went in for a little and kind of played then left and hung out with Halee and Sherandra. After Cody, Jake, Rocky, and Dawn left shit happened. Well, more shit. Things weren't going so hot for a lot of people. :/ And we had a sort of emergency and what do you know! My calls weren't going through and hadn't been for the past four hours. Marissa and Halee left and we couldn't find them and Sherandra had Mari's phone and when we went to look for them my parents pulled up with my overnight stuff and a present. Oh. A new phone. An iPhone. Fancy. Well, because of that surprise we were now buried in some appearingly deep shit because I couldn't contact anyone. Oh well. Told them who we were looking for and they found them after some driving around. Crisis averted and then for a lot of crying. A lot. And then Mari stayed with Halee and Mello at Ann's and I told Sherandra to call me if she needed anything. :/
Spent the night at Riley's with her and Tyler. Slept at 2 until 2. Holy balls, 12 hours. Deciding what to eat we came up with lots of ramen and chocolate chip pancakes. Well, blueberry for Tyler because he doesn't like chocolate. Weird kid. c: So yeah. We hung out in the kitchen and made pancakes and then my mumther came to pick me up. They were tasty. :)
Got home. Hung out. Lots to do. And so now I'm here finishing up a long overdue blog update.
Tomorrow Riley and tyler are coming over to help me make 42 sandwiches for Cody's birthday and we're throwing him a surprise party on Friday at Marissa's place. Busy week.
